EXCURSION

Thursday evening’s excursión will take us to the Asturias coast. It will start with a visit to the historical center of Gijón, Asturias’s most populated city, followed by either a visit to Gijón’s Atlantic Botanical Garden, or to Gijon’s Laboral, city of culture depending on your particular taste. We will then visit Lastres, a typical fishing village. From there, we will go to “Tierra-Astur”, where you will enjoy an informal Asturian dinner called “Espicha”.

BEST POSTER COMPETITION

This year there is a competition for the best poster at the ESPA2010 Conference. The award will be given to the participant whose poster presentation reflects a high degree of personal knowledge, the best clarity presentation and excellence in research. The award consists of a brand-new laptop (specifications to be announced within the next days) provided courtesy of IBM and Informática El Corte Inglés.

ESPA2010 BURSARIES

The ESPA2010 organizing committee has submitted a number of bursary funding applications and we do expect some of them to be successful. Our aim is to cover the full registration fee of all the students attending the conference. If this is not the case, the whole budget will be evenly divided among them. Please note, that the amount of money each student is entitled to, will depend on the funding availability.

The ESPA2010 Organizing Committee is pleased to inform you that our conference will share the Oviedo's Auditorium with the 2nd Meeting of the Italian and Spanish Crystallographic Associations (MISCA II). Since some of the ESPA participants may share common interests with the MISCA community, we kindly refer you to the MISCA II webpage for further information: http://www.misca2010.com
